Compression packing is the oldest and most common means of controlling fluid loss in mechanical equipment, which is essential to its successful operation. Made from relatively soft, pliant materials, compression packing finds major use in rotary centrifugal and reciprocating pumps valves, expansion joints, and several other types of mechanical equipment. We offer flax, PTFE, para-aramid, and expanded graphite compression packing that is used to control leakage at shafts, rods, valve stems, and other functional parts of equipment requiring the effective containment of liquids and gases.
Norfab para-aramid braided packing comes in two varieties. One is a braided Norfab jacket over a Norfab core for lighter weight, greater flexibility, and resiliency. The second is a Norfab jacket over a fiberglass core for added strength and firmness. In addition, we offer twisted rope which consists of twisted strands of soft, pliable fibers that provide a general utility product with varied industry applications. Rope is formed by twisting two or more bound strands of wick into a flexible, resilient packing for use where a thicker material is desired. High-temperature para-aramid packing is inherently flame resistant with excellent strength and abrasion resistance.
Davlyn Group manufactures many additional rope styles that can also be used to minimize leakage.
